I haven’t made one of my confessions for a while, so it’s time to ‘fess up. I am absolutely terrified of brussel sprouts!! Growing up, brussel sprouts were boiled in a pot until they were completely soggy and white, and turned to mush in your mouth. But lately some of my favourite bloggers have been posting brussel sprout recipes, and absolutely raving about the little beggars. I think I can honestly say that it has been 30 years since I ate one. Yes, that makes me kind of old!!!
I figure that if these women who I really admire think brussel sprouts are fantastic, then I must be missing something right?
I have not made any of these recipes yet, but lucky for my family I am going to work through them one by one, and get over my fear because to be honest, these look and sound spectacular!
Head on over to these sites, and check out the mouth watering pictures. I can guarantee you will be wanting to make these recipes too.
First up are Maple Balsamic Roasted Brussel Sprouts from Rachel over at Whole Figured. I have just found Rachel’s blog and can’t believe what I have been missing. Her information is fantastic, and the honesty in her writing makes for beautiful reading.
Next are Maple Miso Glazed Brussel Sprouts from Jenny over at Healthy Crush. Jenny’s blog is chock full of outstanding nutrition information, reviews, interviews……you name it. She describes her life in her words as “an intoxicating love affair with whole foods nutrition, healthy recipes, personal development and natural health! ” Um, how can you not love that!
And last but not least, Arugula Salad with Moroccan Mint Brussel Sprouts from Amie over at The Healthy Apple. I regularly go to Amie’s site for her amazing array of gluten free “clean” recipes. There are also vegetarian, vegan, and dairy free options on there.
So - there you go, a brussel sprout link love. Check them out and give them a go. And while you are there, have a read through these fantastic blogs.
Enjoy
Cheers
Ali
